GET AHEAD IN SCHOOL BY PREPARING WELL

Paula Peralejo
remembers what it was like to struggle in high school two years ago. Because of the difficult schedules her acting career imposed on her, she had to take on hoe a study program that entailed studying modules by herself. There was little communication with teachers and less learning interaction. Understandably, Paula felt that the program was very inadequate and that she became daunted by feelings of inferiority.

Eventually she decided to enroll at Ahead’s Katipunan branch. She wanted to learn everything, so her tutors created a special program that covered all the subjects that she wanted to study. “I was telling them, I don’t know those things, so don’t ask me. Just explain them to me well.” After taking up long term tutorial services, she passed the PEP test with flying colors and was issued a high school certificate from DECS. Now studying veterinary medicine at La Salle Araneta, Paula has since become a dean’s lister and enjoys the confidence that only achievement and hard work can give.

Carmela Mortiz echoes this experience. After finishing a marketing degree in college, her father, actor Edgar Mortiz, encouraged her to pursue another degree. In response, she underwent a one-on-one review service at Ahead in preparation for the Law Admissions Exam in UP. The review helped her in more ways than just preparing for the exam. “I learned how to speed read, improve my math skills, and increase my English language proficiency,” she says.

Getting through school’s one thing, performing well, topping the class, or entering the university of your choice is another. Although students can always rely on their own efforts to get ahead, one certified way to get the proper help is to seek auxiliary education, a specific and targeted service that helps students exactly where they need it. Like Paula and Carmela, many other students have realized that tutorials and reviews can make a difference.
