GET AHEAD
WITH QUALITY STUDENT GUIDE
During the early 90's, there were practically no review books for students
who wanted to enter prestigious colleges and universities in the
Philippines. The only review reference on the market then were foreign books
that were not patterned with the entrance tests given by Philippine academic
institutions.
AHEAD Tutorial and Review Center, being the pioneer in Test-Based review
programs for the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT),
Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET), and De La Salle University College
Entrance Test (DLSUCET), commissioned itself to provide top-of-the-line
review books and student guides that would aid students in strengthening
their skills, preparing for college entrance tests, developing good study
habits, and making school-related choices.
Thus, AHEAD Books and Things was created.

SCORE HIGHER IN UPCAT
About the UPCAT
The UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) is a four-hour written examination
consisting of subtests in Language Proficiency, Mathematics, Science,
Reading Comprehension, and Abstract Reasoning. Out of around 70,000 students
who take the UPCAT annually, only about 10 percent make the grade, even
among students of Metro Manila's elite and exclusive schools.
About this book
Passing college entrance exams requires a particular kind of preparation. It
is one thing to know the subject matter--the what--of the UPCAT subtests
which is what 4 years of high school was supposed to have taught you. It is
another thing to master the techniques--the how-- of responding to the test
itself, which is a god review is supposed to do for you.
Not everyone however can attend a formal review course at a good review
center.
The practice exercises in this book correspond to the UPCAT subtests and are
intended to help you develop the attitude and discipline needed to prepare
physically and mentally for the exam.
Score Higher in UPCAT is the first and only UPCAT book in the country. It is
recommended by school principals and praised by many parents. [
