DE LA SALLE
UNIVERSITY-MANILA
De La Salle
University-Manila serves as a vital resource of church and nation by
developing Christian achievers through a tradition of excellence in
academics, forward-looking research, and involved community service. DLSU-Manila
is a Catholic co-educational university established in 1911 by the Brothers
of the Christian Schools, as inspired by the faith and zeal of St. John
Baptist de La Salle. While it has grown through the years, its vision
essentially remains the same as when it was first conceptualized more than
90 years ago.
Today, it stands as one of the leading universities in the Philippines. It
is a recognized Center of Excellence in English, Chemical Engineering,
Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Literature, Filipino, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics by the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED). It carries the distinction of being
the only Center of Excellence in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering in the
country. On top of these, DLSU-Manila has been named CHED Zonal Research
Center to spearhead research projects in 134 other higher education
institutions in the National Capital Region. It has consistently topped the
national board examinations in engineering and accountancy. Moreover, its
College of Computer Studies under the DLSU Professional Schools, Inc. is the
country’s acknowledged leader in computer science.
The synergy among its responsive academic programs, competent pool of
faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and well-rounded students has
consistently ranked DLSU-Manila among the premier institutions of higher
learning and academic research in Asia and the Pacific.
