SAN BEDA COLLEGE

Faith, Knowledge and Virtues and the growth and fullness of students in these areas are the main goals of San Beda College.

Bedan education has been designed to make the synergy of faith, knowledge and Christian-Benedictine virtues the defining mark of every Bedan’s career and personal life. Thus, potentials of fitness to the Bedan mold are essential requisites of admission to SBC.

The Bedan tradition of excellence is continuously nurtured by maintaining highly competitive and competence-centered admission policies and practices. San Beda College has made the strategic choice of quality over quantity. Therefore, students who want the privilege of a Bedan education have to go through a selection process that probes into the applicant’s mental, social, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual attributes. At the end of the process, San Beda College invites to its fold those whose capabilities, potentials, and character are consistent with and complementary to the pursuit and advancement of the Bedan mission of education.

DID YOU KNOW?
San Beda College (SBC) (Spanish for Saint Bede, or Kolehiyo ng San Beda in Filipino) is a private Benedictine college run by the Benedictine monks in the Philippines. It is located at Mendiola Street in San Miguel, Manila. It was founded in 1901 primarily to “defend the Catholic battlements in the field of education.”

San Beda College (SBC), which was known then as El Colegio de San Beda, started as an all-boys grade school. It has since then expanded to a full college with both undergraduate and post-graduate degree offerings. Currently, it has two other campuses: the San Beda College-Rizal (the largest San Beda campus in size) and the San Beda College Alabang (formerly known as St. Benedict College and Benedictine Abbey School) located in Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City.
